PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS 1st & 2nd Floor Reconfiguration & Renovation
DESIGN SUMMARY This Warrenton house underwent an overhaul that required expert space planning and design for a configuration that moved the Laundry room to the 2nd floor, created a Master Suite, and added a 4th full bath and Butler’s Pantry, while creating an amazing entertaining Kitchen and so much more. The house of mismatched millwork, economy cabinetry, fixtures, and finishes with lackluster appeal became a dream realized: a quiet, soothing, stately retreat at the end of a beautiful, wooded cul-de-sac. The Design includes many architectural details such combination moldings, sophisticated cabinetry, wainscoting, and deep cased openings. The relaxing color palette is soft and calm creating a comfortable interior. The Kitchen and Baths are always at the top of the list for top investment. In the Kitchen, off-white cabinets feature roll-out trays and many other bells and whistles. They are topped with stunning quartzite countertops. The Kitchen includes state-of-the-art Thermador appliances, including an induction cooktop, microwave drawer, undercounter oven, and freezer and refrigerator columns. The Kitchen plan fosters a 2 person workflow from prep to cooking to dining and cleanup. A Pantry Closet was added to the Kitchen to maximum storage. The window corner doubles as a cooling area, while baking, and a sunny spot for plants and has a decorative shelf area for cookbooks and other items. The Butler’s boasts a 2nd sink and dishwasher, which serves the Dining room better and doubles as a coffee bar. The prefab wood flooring has been replaced throughout the house with gorgeous 7” wide white oak with a rich Espresso stain. The stair newels and handrails have been replaced in white oak and have been stained to match the floors. The stair treads have been improved by sanding and color correcting the existing red oak treads to match the new white oak. Many of the interior walls have been insulated to stop sound attenuation and further create a quiet respite. Numerous pocket doors have been added for best use of space.
