PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Provide upscale style bistro design to support a menu of authentic Caribbean dishes, with emphasis on Trinidad and Tobago. Space to include a seating capacity for 30-42, with the ease and maintenance and long life cycle of materials suitable for a cafeteria style restaurant. Emit a warm, lively atmosphere and ambiance, while creating an interior brand that can be reproduced in future locations.

DESIGN SUMMARY Melded a theatrical polished primitive outdoor set together, indicative of the Caribbean islands, by using corrugated aluminum panels for false rooftops, porcelain tile with sand shimmer finish, porcelain tile to appear like weathered wood for wall application, stucco application for wall texture, and rough-hewn wood beam and boards. Used fretwork and outdoor decorative cement blocks, bamboo, and a tropical ocean view mural, creates the feeling of dining in a remote outdoor Caribbean oasis, while maintaining long life cycle and easy maintenance.

Defined the table configuration and ingress/egress to maintain circular flow of people and by using tropical palms and decorative cement block to divide space and alleviate the appearance of waiting-in-line that is often defined by aisles.

Created an inviting space by using warm wood and copper finishes and textural furnishings, along with blacking out the plenum space and dropping the ceiling with false roof tops.
